My First Break

Made possible by contributions from businessmen and spearheaded by SE CDC Council Members, the programme has once again provided opportunities for another 20 youths from financially challenged families who have never had the chance to travel beyond Malaysia or Batam to travel to Shanghai during their September school holidays. This programme was an example of how SE CDC encourages the more abled Singaporeans to give back to the community.

The 20 students-participants visited various companies in Shanghai to learn more about entrepreneurship. These students then drew on what they had learnt to organise a community service project to raise funds for future batches of students for this programme.

The first batch of students also came back to encourage and help the current batch to get their project going. These students put in over 2,400 hours together in paying forward what they have learnt to the community.
