MY First Break (MFB)

My First Break takes students across borders and exposes them to the fastest emerging economy the world can offer.

The South East Community Development (CDC) will be organising the 5th batch of My First Break (MFB) to enable deserving students (aged 14 to 19 years old, studying or living in the South East District) to go for an overseas learning trip to Shanghai, Yiwu this June school holidays from 7 June to 13 June 2009.

The My First Break programme aims to:
(i) Broaden the youths’ horizons by bringing them out of Singapore to feel and understand the impact of globalisation and its effects on Singapore and them

(ii) Develop entrepreneurial spirit in youths by giving them the opportunity to plan and run their own business

(iii) Promote strong bonds among the youths from different schools and develop friendship with MFB Alumni and youths in Shanghai

(iv) To build up the capabilities of the youths (past and current batches), by nurturing their leadership qualities, entrepreneurship skills and community spirit to do community outreach and pay-it-forward to other less privileged youths through their post-trip community project.

* The My First Break programme is made possible by the generous donations from the My First Break Committee and their business associates
